Where are the Kindle Books Stored on Android?

The eBooks offered by Amazon come in a Kindle format, which is one of the most common formats of eBooks. To meet the demand of Kindle reader, most of the new smart phone has a Kindle app available that reads both Kindle formats as well as PDF formats.

There is a specific amazon Kindle app, but it is not the only option to be able to read your favorite books from Kindle format.

Amazon Kindle

Amazon Kindle app is the easiest way to have your books available offline. Within this app you are also able to buy books and download free books. It is a very simple process, once you have downloaded the app, you click on search, write the title you are looking for and check the options available, make sure to pick the option you intended to as many books are free, but many more are to be paid for, beware of the cost of the books. Once you have downloaded a free book or bought the book of your choice you will have it available to read offline by clicking on device, in this folder you will find all the books you have previously downloaded as well as the most recent download.   You can organize your books on your Kindle device according to author, genre, date purchased or any other method that you choose.

Android app

Android has developed specific apps for their users to enjoy reading both Kindle formats and PDF formats in one same place. For many the storage space is an issue, this is why having all books in one app would be more convenient as it would save space on your phone. By downloading a book to your device, it is stored in the app storage and not the phone storage. Once you have chosen the app you will use to download the books, and have successfully installed it on your phone, you can proceed to searching for the title you wish to read, you will need an internet connection to do so.

In Phone

If you have decided to download the book to the phone rather than just the app, this would take up a bit more space, it can be saves on either your phone storage if there is enough space to hold the book title. Or on your micro SD card, which is a good option to have books available on your phone without using up the phone storage. To look for Kindle books on your Android, you will have to search the archived items file. When you see the menu option, click on it and then select your device and you should be able to find the book. Many phones come with expandable memory and books take up very little space compared to other media files, you can store plenty of books on your phone without running into memory issues.

On computer

If you want to search for the Kindle book from your computer then you will have to have it download to your device or have it available on your micro SD card, if it is on the Amazon Kindle app then you would just have to open the app on the computer with your same account you are using on your mobile device and you should be able to see the same books you have downloaded previously on you android phone, or any smart phone for that matter.  You can store all of your books on your computer and add them to your phone or device as you want to read them.

If you connect the phone or your micro SD card to the computer you will have to find your device on the computer, look for archived files, there will be a couple of sections to pick from, you should have files as one of them, click on files, then internal storage and you should be able to see all the books and other document that are downloaded to the phone on either the Kindle format or the PDF format.

Once you have found your way to see the Kindle formatted book, there are various features that might be useful, you can automatically see how far you are with reading the book in the form of percentage. You can choose to delete a book once you’ve read it with a trach can icon. You have a save button for a very obvious reason. A download option, which will download to your device either in the app, or on the phone storage. You can easily swipe through the pages; you can change the font to make it easier for you to read. Bookmark the pages you left off or mark a passage you liked from the book. Overall wherever the Kindle book is stored, it is a great format to read books in.
